Hi, I’m Gary and I’m the author and webmaster of gary.place.

What exactly is this website?

gary.place is a personal site and blog where I write in sometimes.

Why does this website exist?

I’ve had some form of personal website for more than ten years. First at blogger.com, but also a few on tumblr.com. I’ve always felt inclined to share my thoughts and stuff I’ve made online, and this place is an extension of that.

What do you actually do all day?

I write software for a living, and when I’m off-work I play videogames, write programs, watch TV and do a bit of game-dev.

Why should I care?

You probably shouldn’t.

Why is there no [obvious feature] in this site?

I’ve intentionally kept this site without much bloat. I prefer to not have too many features I have to make sure keep running correctly.

What do you write about?

I don’t have a specific topic I adhere to, but I mostly write about gaming, tech and personal stuff.

Why don’t you just post this stuff on [social network]?

I don’t like social media. I have accounts where I need them, but in general I don’t like posting there.

What’s the worst thing you’ve made?

Probably this.

Why don’t you update this more often?

I only post when I feel like I have an interesting topic to talk about.
